By Tarek Mafool

Of course there are truths about health and fitness, but not all "lies" are actually untrue. Exercise and each person's body has different reactions. So what is true for one person may not be necessarily true for others, or some percentage of other people. In that situation, it is not a lie at all. That is why you need to deal with questionable truths, or information, almost on a case by case basis. You should take time to research and learn and you will get to the truths about health and fitness. There is information in this article regarding research and health and fitness and what may or may not be true.

You've probably heard the statement about metabolism boosts and the length they can last, this is not always a full truth. You will not burn the calories after the workout that you would expect with this type of metabolic change. This is because the increase in metabolic rate is not as high as some might claim. The rate is not that big nor is the calorie burn.

Sweat is another subject in this series. A lot of people think that sweating means they are working out well. Most also believe the flip side of that too. In fact sweat is simply your body's air conditioner. There is not a direct correlation between amount of sweat and degree of physical exertion.

Your knees will not benefit any better from the little bit of give the treadmill may give you. Your knees will thank you for making the investment into a quality running shoe.

Your blood circulation will increase significantly with regular exercise which has been proven by many research studies. This circulation increase will help produce increased serotonin levels in the brain. More serotonin in the brain is shown to improve mental clarity. There are many benefits to improved mental acuity. It's more important than ever to sort out the truths of health and fitness, especially if you're totally new to working out. Because you are still forming your fitness habits, this is extremely important. If you cultivate the wrong habits now, you're setting yourself up for a painful process of re-education later. Sticking with a fitness routine and succeeding require you to form good habits from the start.
